Sarah Hope Coppard

MACC accred, BEd, FdD (Distinction)

Experienced and compassionate Integrative & Accredited Counsellor and Relationship Coach

My counselling rooms are in a private, woodland location just outside Axminster, East Devon, 10 minutes drive from Lyme Regis.

I offer online Counselling to any and every location.

My Motivation

I’m grateful to have had a very varied and rich life experience. Facing many spiritual, emotional, physical and relational difficulties has taught me such a lot.

With a love for learning, I have an innate desire to grow and develop as a person, overcoming obstacles where possibe. I’ve been in pursuit of healing and freedom for myself and my marriage for most of my adult life. So what I bring to my counselling has been developed and refined in the fire of my own life experience. Thus, I am able to bring hope to others!

I have a passion to help people move from surviving to thriving in life and relationships.

  • FdA (Distinction) - Therapeutic Counselling

  • Postgraduate Certificate - Creative Therapies for Children and Families

  • Post Qualifying Training - Encounter Centred Couples Therapy

  • Post Qualifying Training - Intergenerational Therapy

Additional Training

Different approaches to counselling: Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Solution-focused. Working at relational depth.

How to work effectively with trauma, attachment issues, anger, the inner child, roles played in families, self-compassion.

Working safely online, working with young people, self-harm and suicide.

Many creative approaches; e.g. sand tray, nesting dolls, puppets, art work, clay. Effective use of Essential Oils in therapy.

My Experience

Before training in Counselling, I worked in education as a teacher and in various church contexts as a youth and children’s worker and women’s ministry leader.

Having completed my degree in Integrative Counselling I worked for a young people’s Charity (Teens in Crisis), in a number of local schools both primary and secondary. I then established my own private counselling practice in Cheltenham, offering counselling to both adults and young people. This was very successful as I never needed to advertise, all my referrals came via recommendations.

I then went on to complete a year’s training in Couples coaching and began offering extended counselling sessions to couples with a view to seeing transformation in their relationship. Having moved to the south coast, I continue to offer individual counselling; online and in person. I am also able to offer an even more effective approach to couples therapy; a 3-day Marriage Retreat. This offers the opportunity for real, transformative, before-and-after change.
